Word has it Kylie Minogue's new album, X, isn't selling so well here in the States. WHAT IS WITH THIS COUNTRY!?!

So, with today's Music Video of the Day, I thought I would do my part to convince my readers (all three of you ;-) ) to listen and LOVE one of the singles off the album. I'm sorry Americans are slow to come around, Kylie. I'm doing my best!

The song is called "WOW" and I love it!

Not bad. Kinda catchy. Especially the way she sings, "Wow wow wow wow," in that electronic voice.

This is Kylie's second go-round with the States. She had a couple of hit singles back when I was in high school/college.

There's something about her in this video that reminds me of Gwen Stefani. Could be the short blond wig.

I like this song, too. I didn't even know she existed, though, until I lived in the netherlands. I have no idea why american's done care, either.

it kind of reminds me of the newest miley cyrus song out... please don't hate me for loving hannah montana, but I LOVE her for some reason. I think she might be my new britney.

Mary, I think you're talking about The Locomotion - which is probably the thing she's remembered for the most in the states. Which is sad because she has released at least 5 albums since that are all fantastic.

I don't think anyone has been able to figure out why exactly she hasn't cracked through in the U.S., although there are millions of theories. Mine is: she isn't a hoochie... she doesn't use OVERT sex to sell herself. She IS sexy, and the songs are often about sex, but she is ALWAYS fully clothed, and to my knowledge she hasn't simulated sex on stage.

Erin - Miley Cyrus, yay! Are you talking about the song, "See You Again"? Li'l Sis and I LOVE that song!!

the fact that you heart miley, too, totally jusifies my love. ;-)

I dig it. I think it helps having been in Europe in the past as well as being here now; especially being here in Spain where the club culture is particularly vibrant. You KNOW I love her, but my acts of faith have out weighed my acts of works, i.e. having not bought any of her albums. Please forgive me of my sins, I will do proper penitence by spending some $$ on Ms. Minogue. I think your theory holds some clout, but I do believe that there are some other facets to the phenomenon. Her age may have something to do with it too.

Well, she's younger than Madonna. Isn't she? Lemme check...

Yeah, she's 10 years younger. Then again, Madonna sells better in Europe, too. America just seems to be over dynamic, older, dance-club divas. It's a shame, really.

What I love most about Kylie is her consistency. She always delivers. Madonna (and the truth totally hurts) can be hit or miss sometimes... but Kylie is always right where she's supposed to be.
